The American flag is more than a symbol, and we're glad to see it honored so well

It was a fine thing, indeed, to see the Gulfport community come together to honor our nation's flag on Flag Day recently. We quite enjoyed Debbie Wolfe's story about it in The Gabber. We like what Gulfport Councilman Michael Fridovich had to say about the whole affair, as quoted by Debbie Wolfe: “It’s a way to celebrate the flag but more importantly, it’s a way to celebrate what I consider to be the most important part of the flag, the first 10 amendments that go with it – the Bill of Rights. The flag is more of a symbol and sometimes we spend more time looking at the symbol and not the teeth of the situation.”
